Promenade Expiration
There, in the lower right, on the grass. This photo was taken on July 15, 2008 along the Belt Parkway, near the bike/foot path along the Verrazano Narrows. Two days later, on July 17, and the umbrella is a few feet away, on the path itself. Hundreds of unconcerned passers-by have ignored this sad corpse.

If this umbrella looks familiar, scroll up. I believe it is the same umbrella that was resting against the front bumber of the car at 9 AM. 12 hours later, some soul had tried to give it a proper burial, but others have disregarded the gesture, and heaper more trash on the sad, blue carcass.
